(I) Repair the tire: In the process of long-distance cycling, puncture is a common fault. So every rider has to learn to fix a tire on his own. There are several important steps to be taken to repair tires.
One is to disassemble and install tires. First said demolition, mountain bike tires are generally better demolition. With a tire skid plate in the place away from the valve nozzle, with the outer edge of the rim as the fulcrum, the outer tire pry up a point, with another skid plate in the vicinity of the previous skid point and then pry up a point, in turn the outer tire a little bit to all pry open, pay attention not to pry the inner tube broken. Then remove the inner tube from the outer tube, and take the valve nozzle when taking the inner tube, so as to save time and effort. Then install, first the valve nozzle into the valve nozzle hole of the ring, and then all the other inner tubes are installed in the outer tire, pay attention to keep the inner tube flat, in order to ensure this, you can put all the inner tubes into the outer tire, first a small amount of gas, and then install the outer tire, after installing the outer tire to check whether the valve nozzle is installed.
The second is to find loopholes. There are several ways to find loopholes. No matter which method is used, the inner tube should be inflated first. It should be noted that the inner tube is too inflated to burst after leaving the outer tube, which must be noted. In the method of finding the leak, water test method is sensitive and quick. Often there is no water to look for leaks on the journey, or no container to hold the water. Can try out skin feeling method and soil buried method and so on.
The third is to make up for leaks. The key is to rub and paste, rub is to rub the holes around the new stubble, the area is greater than the patch skin, and then evenly wipe the glue, dry for a period of time, this time to keep the rub surface clean, and then paste the patch skin in the leak. There are two kinds of patch skin, one is to use the old inner tube to patch skin, this patch skin, before sticking, to rub the inside of the new stubble, with glue. The other is to buy ready-made cold patch glue, this patch skin, one side is waterproof paper, the other side is Xibo paper. When used, remove the tin piece of paper and stick it directly to the hole where the glue was applied. The key is to stick fast. If it is quick to remove the shaft, in order to save time, you can use the method of replacing the inner tube. But before you remove the tire, loosen the brake rack.
(ii) Adjust the transmission: with the extension of the riding time, the transmission will change to some extent, which makes the rider feel bad to use. If the rider learns to adjust the transmission, the transmission can be kept in good condition. There are three keys to adjusting the transmission.
The first is the tightness of the variable speed line. Adjust the tightness of the wire so that the chain is in the position of the small wheel. Tighten the string, but not too tight, to give some flexibility.
The second is the limit screw. Whether the front transmission or the rear transmission, there are two screws used for adjustment, the front transmission limit screw is to control the fork in or out of the action position, the rear transmission limit screw is to control the regulating wheel in or out of the action position.
Third, fine-tuning. There is a fine - tuning knob at one end of the transmission line, which is used for making fine adjustments. You can make adjustments while testing.
(iii) Change of Pedals: The two pedals (or pedals) on our bicycles have different threads. The left one has a back button, and the right one has a front button. For easy memory, we can simply write them down as "left, right and back". Attention should be paid to the direction of rotation when disassembling. Don't hurt your hand when disassembling, and tighten it when assembling.
